Steempro

Happy 25th birthday Steempro!

Longevity is proof that a product works and this is exactly what Prochem’s range of Steempro carpet extraction machines provides.

This hugely-popular three-model range celebrates its 25th in 2025. Launched in 2000, as the Steempro 2000, the brand has successively developed, selling in large numbers to a myriad of markets, including professional carpet cleaners, large FM cleaning companies, healthcare premises and prestigious environments ranging from luxury hotels to grand palaces.

The range has benefited from some subtle improvements over the years, such as increasing the pressure on solution pumps; adding a mains isolation switch; and deploying side mounted brackets to store hoses tidily for transit.

With a variety of specifications on offer, cleaning solution capacity spans 35 litres to 55 litres with power options ranging from the SX2000 Steempro Powerflo’s single 3-stage vacuum motor to the SX2100 Steempro Powermax and even larger SX2700 Steempro Powerplus models with twin 3-stage vacuums.

Says Prochem Director of Sales & Training, Phil Jones:

“These vacuum motors are one of the main reasons why the range has proved so popular and lasted so long.

“They not only get great results but are ‘whisper-quiet’ suiting cleaning operatives as well as working environments where occupants are sensitive to excessive noise, such as care homes.”

Another draw is the range of accessories that can be attached to each of the Steempro units to open up huge cleaning opportunities to the owner.

The Heat ‘N’ Run in-line heater can be attached to provide hot water at 65°C to the operator in a matter of minutes; and a short 36” S-bend stair wand enables easier cleaning of carpeted stairs, in addition to other accessories specifically for cleaning upholstery, misting or sanitising and even hard flooring cleaning.

And the range has not stood still. The chassis of the larger 55 litre Powerplus model has been developed into the RC2700 CR2 – a multi surface, non-touch cleaning system that has found its niche market in the cleaning of changing rooms, shower rooms and toilets in gyms, football clubs, universities and airports.

Who knows? Perhaps the Steempro will power on for another 25 years!
