Time spent planning an event pays dividends as Prochem’s Jon Ewing found when invited to show at distributor Bowak’s Open Day.
“It went like clockwork,” reports Jon. “The show was their first and held at Bowak’s premises in Reading.
“The Bowak Event Coordinator, Daniel Rose, gave us two-month’s lead time so we had plenty of time to get ourselves organised.”
“He put us in a carpeted area for our demonstrations in the company of a good mix of non-competing manufacturers.
“A one-way system – bit like IKEA – meant a steady flow of customers could move from stand to stand without bumping into one another!”
Ensuring everybody’s details and requests were taken down as they worked their way through the building also meant the 60+ attendees and the five suppliers showing got what they wanted from the day.
“After two hours I had seven Bowak customers booked for demonstrations at their premises,” says Jon. “We saw carpet cleaners, schools, a hotel and commercial cleaning companies with a lot of interest expressed in the Lindhaus Upright Dynamic Vacuum 380E, Lindhaus Backpack LB4, Prochem Fivestar and Prochem Steempro Powermax machines.”
Raffles always go down well at these events and Jon offered a selection from the Natural chemicals range to be won by one lucky attendee who left feedback on the day.
It went so well Bowak are now considering holding another show in the near future, which I’m sure will be another successful event.
Since the open day those booked in demonstrations have turned into sales with the Prochem range of walk behind extraction machines (Fivestar and Polaris) being demonstrated, purchased and installed. In the process this has built a solid relationship with the Bowak team and I look forward to working closely with them again in 2023!
