The UK’s largest commercial provider of training for professional cleaners, Prochem Europe, is to continue providing an online alternative to its classroom–based One-day Carpet and One-day Upholstery training courses when lockdown comes to an end.

“With many people starting up new cleaning businesses, demand for training is at a high, but due to the lockdown it has been hard to get to a classroom to learn,” says Sales and Training Manager, Phil Jones.

With social distancing preventing conventional training, the company had converted its course materials shared with delegates at its Training Academy into a multimedia package including new videos showing stain removal techniques, pre-cleaning tests and providing related product information.

Students gain the same high-level of technical knowledge that they would if attending a face-to-face course and, being live-streamed, courses enable student interaction with other attendees as well as instructors by asking questions and enhancing overall the learning experience.

Transformed into an online ‘classroom’ via the Zoom platform, the One-day Carpet and Upholstery training courses have proven popular with professional cleaners, especially those unable to get to Chessington due to the travel distance involved.

“Online training has been such a success we’re planning to continue to offer the Zoom option to students, even now that training has recommenced in the classroom, at least once or twice a month,” says Phil.

Further dates have just been added to Prochem’s 2021 training schedule, taking in courses on carpet, hard floor and upholstery cleaning and maintenance, as well as stain removal.
