We know the use of alcohol is unacceptable in places of prayer but that rule can apply more widely than just the kind we drink.
When Essex-based contractor OnC Cleaning had an enquiry from a local mosque to clean a carpet in a large prayer room, the brief included a request that any cleaning products used were to be alcohol-free.
Alcohol in the form of Isopropyl is often used in deodorisers, disinfectants and sterilisers and understanding the significance of this, OnC owner and Prochem user, Sam Olatunji immediately contacted the company to discuss what solution might be most suitable to task.
The answer came in the form of Prochems’ C409 Pure Clean. Containing no fragrances, soaps, enzymes, optical brighteners or VOC (volatile organic compounds) makes C409 Pure Clean ideal for the job not solely where alcohol may not be used for faith reasons but in environments where users may have allergies to them.
C409 Pure Clean can be used for all types of carpet care, from bonneting and spotting to rinse extraction and spray cleaning. It comes in as a white, fragrance-free powder in 4 kilo tubs with a dilution rate of 1 to 66 at pH 9.
OnC completed the job and the client was delighted with the results and the care that they took to consider their request and recognise their faith.
There are estimated to be around 1,500 mosques in the UK.
