When a leading UK manufacturer of safety flooring raised a query on cleaning a new school installation with solutions specialist Prochem, sales and product development manager, Jon Ewing arranged a site visit to advise the in-house cleaning team.

Jon soon established, that due to the school team’s reliance on only mopping the toilet floors, this was escalating a soil buildup.

Jon brought along two products to get the job done in Prochem’s E457 Natural Multi-Surface Floor Cleaner and A250 Alkleen.

E457 Natural Multi-Surface Floor Cleaner is a powerful multi-surface, neutral pH, cleaning
concentrate with built-in eco surfactant formulations and natural fragrances. It is suitable for cleaning most hard floors including vinyl, linoleum, natural stone, marble, limestone, Terrazzo, granite and
ceramic tiles.

Application can be by either mopping or using a rotary machine or scrubber dryer and is ideal for daily use.

A250 Alkleen is a free rinsing, alkaline cleaner for floors and all washable surfaces, such as non-slip flooring, plastics, laminate, vinyl, concrete, linoleum and any surface not harmed by water.

Due to its higher alkalinity, and various dilution rates, it is highly effective for the deeper cleaning of hard floors which do not respond to more neutral cleaning agents. Application can be made through rotaries or scrubber driers.

Back at the school, a small demonstration area was taped off so the results could be seen. Using a section of red floor pad and a pre-diluted amount of A250 Alkleen, Jon sprayed product onto the floor and gently agitated by hand with the pad.

Says Jon: “The result was instantaneous with the alkali detergent easily removing the soil. Once the floor was wiped with a damp towel, the results became obvious, leaving the school cleaning team amazed with the outcome.”
